This is my very first Daring Bakers challenge, and I have to say, I was completely intimidated by it. When I read the recipe I was actually scared. I have never baked pastry before! Never worked with yeast! I put off doing it for a few weeks before finally I just dove in head first and made it happen. I ended up being VERY happy with myself and with the final product. Making the pastry part ended up being pretty easy.... and then it had to sit in the fridge over night - which was tough for me because I was so anxious to have them made.
But the next morning I mixed up my filling (Raspberry) and filled the pastry (maybe a bit too much filling?)

Here is the finished braid after coming out of the oven - this was the moment when I realized the project was a success. I couldn't stop smiling because I was just so happy that it turned out ok.

And here is a slice on a plate - look at all the filling pouring out! (My Grampa tried some and told me there was too much filling so I'm pretty sure there was.)

I'm pretty excited for my next challenge, whatever it is!
